In affiliation with the Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots and Shoots program, the Junction Creek Stewardship committee, and the Sudbury Basin Environmental Networking Initiative, we hope to accomplish various projects in helping maintain and restore our city’s natural environment and to aid in the protection of animals’ well being.

Furthermore, we are taking the initiative of creating a network interlinking all highschool environmental groups and individuals in the Sudbury region. We think this is a course of action which is necessary, as there are so many different ideas that can be realized more effectively by collaboration.

As a starter, we are undertaking a project of forming an Environmentalist’s handbook. Its contents would range from environmental facts, to local and global issues, to even tasty vegetarian recipes. This handbook can be beneficial for many reasons: we want it to be distributed amongst contributors and sold within all participating schools and local businesses willing to support our efforts, as a fundraiser for those involved.

We are also hoping to get a speaker at an assembly on Monday, April 18th, 2005.

With the guidance of the Junction Creek Stewardship Committee, we are looking towards a clean up, in the month of May, of the creek that runs through our city.
